Zero carbon future
We are experts in zero carbon retrofitting for social housing, guiding our customers every step of the way. Through our net zero carbon retrofit service, Wates Retrofit, we’re working with housing providers to install energy saving measures to homes. This service helps to cut fuel poverty and reduce energy costs.
We have completed retrofit enhancements at over 3,000 homes so far, supporting residents through these essential works, and driving sizable reductions in their fuel bills.

Social Housing Maintenance For Wolverhampton Council
Beginning in April 2013 this 15-year contract involves the delivery of a programme of full maintenance works across Wolverhampton’s stock of approximately 7,000 homes.

Here at Wates, we have an opportunity for a Groundworker/Bricklayer to join us in our Wates Living Space Responsive Maintenance Team in the Redditch area. You will be asked to undertake all supporting tasks with a high standard of workmanship which will ensure an excellent customer service every time. We are particularly keen to speak to candidates who have experience within the following scope of works: Brickwork Fencing Flagging Pointing Tarmacking Key Accountabilities will include: Loading and Unloading of Vehicle Distribution of materials General brickwork, fencing, typical hard landscaping duties as the project requires. General clearing and cleaning of site areas to appropriate waste disposal methods We are looking for you to already have the relevant skills as a Hard Landscaper and experience to fulfil the above role requirements. NVQ Level 2 in a trade discipline is required, along with a full clean driving license. To be successful in the role you also be an excellent communicator with the ability to problem solve, multitask and work to tight deadlines.

Wates have an opportunity for a Plumber/ Multi Trader to join our Wates team within our Responsive Maintenance division. You will be working out of our London office on one of our commercial contracts, delivering reactive maintenance. Key Accountabilities will include: Having an understanding of, and the ability to work to, industry-accepted Health and Safety standards. Undertaking repair/renewal works to plumbing installations, and associated or minor maintenance tasks utilising your multi-trade experience. Working alongside colleagues or contractors to complete complex orders. Using PDA to receive instructions, and to feedback electronically details of works undertaken, or works to be undertaken. Liaising with Supervisors/schedulers in a timely manner when works are unable to be completed on a first visit, providing detailed information to allow works to be programmed in. Affording excellent customer service to residents, client and colleagues. You must have a full UK driving licence.We are looking for a professional Plumber who has multi-trade experience gained from working in a similar industry and environment. To be successful in the role you must also be an excellent communicator with the ability to problem solve, multi task and work to tight deadlines.
