Bourne Hall apartments unveiled at Guest Hospital site in Dudley

Wates Residential has launched 29 contemporary apartments for market sale at the historic Guest Hospital site in Dudley.

Housing developer, Wates Residential, has launched 29 contemporary apartments for market sale at the historic Guest Hospital site in Dudley.

Forming part of the 157-home Butler’s Crescent development, which is seeing Wates transform the 147-year hospital, Bourne Hall was unveiled to enthusiastic homebuyers last weekend.

Originally designed by architect William Bourne, Bourne Hall served as the hospital’s administration building and has now been delicately refurbished to feature a collection of one, two and three bedroom apartments for young professionals or downsizers.

Butler’s Crescent, a partnership between Wates, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council and Homes England, comprises 127 new build homes, 30 refurbished properties and the full restoration of the locally-listed former porter’s lodge. Of the homes, 118 are being sold on the open market with 39 available to rent through Dudley MBC.

The scheme has been named Butler’s Crescent in tribute to the renowned Black Country architect, Albert Thomas Butler, who worked on the hospital.

The launch of Bourne Hall is the latest milestone in the transformation of Dudley Guest Hospital into Butler’s Crescent and will enable both young professionals to secure a place on the property ladder and downsizers to acquire a new, contemporary-designed home.
