The Hull Extra Care PFI partnership between Wates and our client Riverside will deliver 316 apartments across three sites on behalf of Hull City Council. The schemes, Harrison Park at Hall Road; Cecil Gardens at Hawthorn Avenue and Redwood Glades at Leads Road, will provide much needed extra care housing for the city of Hull.
Hull was the only council in the country to retain funding from the Department of Health to develop extra care facilities following Government spending cuts. The developments funded will help meet the growing demand for support for people with care needs – including working age people with disabilities, mental health needs and dementia, as well as older people – enabling them to live independently while having access to care and support.

The 316 one and two bedroom apartments, due for completion in 2016/17, are designed to be adaptable so people can continue to live within their communities as their needs change over time
This development will provide a balance of independence and reassurance with people able to enjoy the privacy of their own home, making a valuable contribution to the options available for people in Hull. they are also designed to be a community hub with facilities such as communal garden areas, a restaurant and a hair salon for the benefit of both the residents and those in the surrounding areas.
