Wates Smartspace has been appointed to deliver a major contract for the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to fit-out and refurbish 12 probation offices across England.
Valued at up to £10m, the two year contract includes a national office fit out and refurbishment of offices across London and the South regions. Wates Smartspace secured the contract as part of a major programme by the MoJ to modernise the estates being used by the Probation Service in England and Wales.
Wates Smartspace has a long-standing relationship with the MoJ and has delivered several projects, including most recently, a major contract to upgrade 21 courts in order to maintain operations throughout and beyond the Covid pandemic.
Scott Camp, Managing Director of Wates Smartspace, commented:
The MoJ is one of Smartspace’s key customers, and this appointment further solidifies the relationship we have developed over a number of years.
I’m exceptionally proud of our team’s unrivalled experience of working in a fast-track fit-out environment, which was recognised by the MoJ, leading us to secure this competitive tender.”
Wates Smartspace works across a number of sectors, including banking, retail, developers, pharmaceutical, healthcare, broadcasters, and owners and occupiers of commercial offices and public sector organisations. Project values range from £20,000 to £25m.
