Wates in partnership with The Prince’s Trust

Wates has joined the Construction & Business Services Leadership Group with The Prince’s Trust, as part of the Trust’s Get into Construction programme.

The Get into Construction programme, which is funded by The Prince’s Trust's Leadership Group, provides an opportunity to support young people who are not in education, employment and training to help build a career within the construction industry.

Paul Drechsler, Wates’ Chairman and Chief Executive said:

“We’re very proud and delighted to be part of The Prince’s Trust and their Get into Construction programme.  This is at the heart of Wates’ core values and we have been working to improve skills through our Building Futures programme over the past two years.

“We are committed to improving the lives of people in the communities in which we work and boosting employment levels through skills and training is a great way to make a lasting impact, especially in areas of economic and social deprivation.”

The programme is being run across the UK to provide young people with work ready skills.

Philip Rogerson, Chairman of The Prince’s Trust and Chairman of Carillion said:

“We are delighted to welcome Wates to the programme and look forward to working with them to develop more opportunities for disadvantaged young people across the UK to join the Get into Construction programme and pursue careers in the construction industry.”
