Alice Fox, an assistant design manager in our residential business, was named ‘Best Young Woman in Construction’ at the 2023 Women In Construction and Engineering (WICE) awards.

The win was for our Wates Innovation Network (WIN) and the dedicated WIN portal we launched to provide a marketplace of sustainable technology providers, who could help our customers as they work to improve the sustainability of their buildings.

2019: Inside Housing Development Awards – Best Regeneration Project

Erith Park has won Best Regeneration Project at the Inside Housing Development Awards. This  was a great partnership between Orbit Group and Wates to transform the former Larner Road estate, a local authority owned high rise estate, into the stunning Erith Park development.

2019: What House? Awards – GOLD WINNER

The What House? GOLD award is in recognition of Wates Captain’s View development in Llanrumney which was delivered in partnership with Cardiff Council.

Captain’s View gives first time buyers much more than a first rung on the housing ladder.

2019: Investors in People – GOLD AWARD

Wates has been re-accredited for the Investors in People (IiP) Gold standard for the third consecutive time in what assessors have called a remarkable achievement.

2019: Sunday Times Fast Track 100

In 2019, Wates Group was ranked #37 in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100.

Considerate Constructors Gold

2019: Considerate Constructors – GOLD AWARD

The annual Considerate Constructors Schemes (CCS) National Site Awards recognise projects and sites that have raised the bar for considerate construction. In 2019, 25 sites across the Wates Group were recognised for exceptional standards of consideration for their local communities, environment and workforce.

2019: Construction Manager of the Year Awards

Wates Project Manager Nick White won a silver award and the praise of judges in the ‘Higher Education’ category for the National Horizons Centre in Darlington, which had already achieved platinum status in the Project Excellence awards earlier this year.

2018: Construction Manager of the Year Awards

Wates wins Gold, Silver and overall at Construction Manager Of The Year Awards 2018. Neil Lock was awarded Construction Manager of the Year for his work on the challenging V&A Museum extension project. Gold Medal winners were John Laycock and Dominic Hattee with a silver medal for Dave Nott.

2018: PFM Awards

The PFM Awards celebrate the best of the outsourced facilities market, recognising the importance of collaboration in successful service delivery. Wates and Twycross Zoo won the ‘Partners in CSR – Public Sector’ award.

2018: UK Housing Awards

The UK Housing Awards are the most prestigious and significant awards in the social housing sector. We won the ‘Outstanding Approach to Repairs and Housing Maintenance’ award for its work with the Birmingham City Council.

2018: TPAS Winner

This accolade recognises our commitment to delivering an excellent service and leaving a positive lasting legacy in the communities where we work.

2018: BCO Award – National Commercial Workplace Award

As well as achieving EPC A and BREEAM Excellent accreditation, the Kirkstall Forge development is the first Yorkshire building to secure Platinum certification by the digital connectivity rating company Wired Score.

2017: The Princes Trust Corporate Employee Awards

Wates received the People Power award at The Princes Trust Corporate Employee Awards in London in recognition of the efforts of its employees to generate funds to support young people and for its commitment to improving employability.

2017: CN Awards

Wates scoops Construction News Contractor of the Year Award 2017. These top industry awards were made in recognition of Wates outstanding project delivery, innovation, and forward-looking approach to the industry. They also acknowledged the impact of our sustainability programme.

2017: UK Social Mobility Awards

The accolade recognised Wates commitment to advancing social mobility in the communities in which it works, and through its award-winning sustainability programme, Reshaping Tomorrow.

2016: RICS North West Award

Recognised for world-class design and construction, Manchester’s HOME for art and culture celebrates first year with double award. The the iconic development has won the RICS North West Award for Tourism and Leisure and was dubbed one of ten winners at the Royal Institute of British Architects North West Awards.

2016: LHC Awards

Wates has been recognised for its commitment to being a responsible business at the LHC Awards, scooping the Delivering Excellent Sustainability and Social Responsibility Award, at a ceremony in London.

2016: BCO Award – National Commercial Workplace Award

22 Station Road offers 64,800 ft of prime office provision and is located 250m from the citys railway station. The building is a key component of the business district being delivered as part of CB1, a new city quarter around an upgraded Cambridge station.
