data centres
For a confidential financial sector giant, Wates constructed and fitted out a 2,000 sq.m Tier IV High Density Data Centre within a portal framed shell and core building. The building already housed a live data centre and workplace recovery facility.
Careful co-ordination and planning ensured no disruption was caused to the existing facility.
Technically, the Data Room required a double height steel framed partition to be erected with an airtight raised floor installed to ensure the correct operation of the CRAC units.
This main room required early handover to allow the high density water cooled cabinets to be installed and tested prior to the equipment being installed.
All the timescales and deadlines were met to allow final IST and Black Building testing to be concluded to programme.
At completion, this Data Centre was Europe's largest HD facility.
