A 10 acre site to the south of Wallingford town centre, which Wates Developments has been promoting for a residential development for a number of years through the Local Development Framework.
Key elements of this project are:
- Wates Developments have a freehold and contractual interest on this land
- Site is located adjacent to existing residential properties and provides an excellent opportunity to create a new community in a sustainable location, and in keeping with the surrounding area.
- Site has been identified within South Oxfordshire’s Core Strategy Preferred Options for residential development
- The team have been proactive in reviewing the South Oxfordshire District Council’s current housing supply and identifying a housing shortfall within the area.
- On this basis a new application is being prepared for around 109 new homes which include over 2 acres of open space including a community orchard and an ecological buffer area.
- The new homes have been architecturally designed to fit in with the surrounding character of the site.
