We managed out substantial risk for L&Q on the project by negotiating complex access and engineering issues due to the physical constraints of the site. These included adjacent mainline rail services and housing estates and the Channel Tunnel rail link.
We sourced and installed a unitised cladding system more usually used on commercial projects for the tower. This accelerated the build time by 12 weeks and gave a stunning finish.
Our constant focus on quality included erecting a two storey mock up of the cladding system to iron out defects pre-installation.
Reducing the use of protection and installing eco kitchens all helped towards achieving a level of 93% of waste generated diverted from landfill.
We researched and installed a complex CHP system which involved coordinating a wide range of technical experts. This has reduced heating bills for residents and provides the scheme with 10% renewable energy.
We delivered this complex, £35 million project on time and on budget, with one section delivered considerably ahead of time and with minimal defects.
Our focus on safety, including managing out risk by eliminating the need for scaffolding on the tower, resulted in just one reportable accident during over 3/4 million man hours of work.
We helped to maximise L&Q’s revenues by advising on specification and design of the private sale elements of the scheme.
