Somerset House, East Wing - Live Site
Wates started works at Somerset House in September 2010. The project will involve the refurbishment and reconstruction of the East Wing of the Grade 1 listed building which will eventually be used primarily for education purposes.
Project works will include:
- Demolition of the wall, reinstating of sash windows
- Re-stabilisation of existing ceilings
- Repairing and replacing original fireplaces
- Reinstalling roof lights
- Replacement of bottles and parapet stonework to the roof
- Installing 3 number lifts & bridge
- Doff cleaning existing external stonework
