This project involved a major cut and carve of what was previously a C&A retail unit in the centre of Cardiff.
Key challenges that the team succeeded in overcoming on this project:
- Logistical challenges given the location of the store and the associated constraints
- Major cut and carve works were executed to the buildings structure
- 24 week programme
Key elements of this project included:
- Removal and reinstatement of the shopfront, consisting of planar glazing, stone and terracotta cladding, formation of main entrance Atrium.
- Removal of existing floors to accommodate escalators serving four floors, two customer lifts, one good lift, refurbishment of the existing car lift and staff stairs to all floors.
- The new Primark is trading off four floors, of around 80,000 sq ft
