Above all, it's about people

Peper Harow Lane, Shackleford

In 2007 Wates Developments secured the freehold of a redundant mushroom farm in the village of Shackleford, south west of Guildford, Surrey. Whilst brownfield and previously developed land, the site required great care to ensure a high quality design to secure strong local and planning support in this Green Belt and Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty location.

• Challenging planning environment on this sensitive site

• Consented for 18 homes in 2009

• Change of use from intensive agricultural to residential

• Gifting of adjacent field to Parish Council

• Strong Surrey vernacular and bespoke design

• On site green energy solutions to meet Code Level 4
