Lloyds Data Centre
Wates Interiors create a major new data centre for Lloyds of London, the world’s leading specialist insurance market.
- The 48 week scheme comprised of ground slab and strip foundations, a steel frame superstructure with Holorib decking, concrete floors and rain screen cladding
- Internally works included an environmentally controlled technical data halls, plant rooms, offices and welfare facilities. These were fully supported by generators with UPS back up
- Fundamental to client confidence was Wates’ proprietary testing and commissioning process. Developed by in-house experts it demonstrated the design intent and resilience of the Data Centre before its live operation
- The scheme trialled the WRAP initiative (Waste & Resource Action Programme), which aims to reduce waste and the environmental impact of the works. This contributed to the client’s overall BREEAM rating for the Data Centre increasing from ‘good’ to ‘very good’
