Liverpool John Moore's University
Liverpool John Moore's University, Mount Pleasant scheme - Live Site
Wates has recently started works at John Moore's University in Liverpool redeveloping its site on Mount Pleasant, a prime city centre location.
The project will consist of:
- Demolition of the existing basement, and the design and build of the new 6 storey structure
- Construction of steel frame with curtain walling and Fibre C rainscreen cladding mounted on SIPS panels.
- All external and infrastructure activities, including section 278 highway works.
There are immediate challenges on this project as the site footprint is extremely tight which provides logistical and construction issues, however our team are working proactively to overcome these challenges and deliver an exceptional facility for the University.
The new building which will have three large lecture theatres will serve the Faculties of Business and Law, and Media Arts and Social Science.
Wates Construction has a strong relationship with LJMU and are engaging with the University on its World of Work initiative. We will be providing work placements, site visits, guest talks and various education initiatives to support their programme and give opportunities to their students.
