John Moore's University, Liverpool

Learning by example: A new landmark for Liverpool

This well-regarded new landmark building on a sensitive site offers a striking visual complement to the adjacent Metropolitan Cathedral, one of the most famous buildings in Liverpool.

The new University demonstrates real architectural merit and exceptional quality throughout, with an outstanding exposed concrete frame, external walls clad in a bespoke imported white brick, and a sedum green roof. It is a great example of our innovative construction solutions and extensive experience of managing construction and design, utilizing input from a specialist supply chain.

The site has achieved a ‘Very Good’ BREEAM rating and has also held numerous high-profile events, including a CDP showpiece organised with the RICS and the CIOB, further establishing it as an example of excellence within the industry.

We worked closely with the project team to adjust the programme and sequence of works to suit the client’s needs, adding value throughout the design and construction phases.

We also ensured several key areas were available to the client prior to the formal handover, allowing phased use ahead of schedule. As a result, we have developed an excellent ongoing relationship with the client.
