Delivering demonstrable savings in programme time, operational and capital costs or reducing the environmental impact of development through the successful application of innovative building technology and processes:
- Reducing programme times on decent homes – up to 25% time savings on most programmes leading to substantial reductions in prelims and less disruption for tenants.
- Improving the environmental sustainability of development through ground-breaking innovation:
- Reducing costs and minimising environmental impact through industry leading waste management solutions:
- Projects with WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) have led to new industry guidance on how to set up a waste management strategy.
- All temporary and permanent timber on our sites comes from sustainable sources.
- Our Target Zero programme will see us eliminate all nonhazardous waste to landfill by 2010.
- Playing an important role in the market our customers operate in – making positive changes to the way existing housing stock is improved and new housing delivered:
- Established the first accredited RLO training scheme in conjunction with the Chartered Institute of Housing and
Construction Skills
Working with BITC, the Smith Institute, the All-Party Parliamentary CSR Group, the Housing Forum, the Homes & Communities Agency and the Mayor of London to influence future housing policy and generate more opportunities for public and private sectors to create positive change in deprived communities.
Co-authored a report into and appointed as technical advisors for sustainable housing refurbishment for the Welsh Assembly Government.
Leading the Housing Forum’s working group into the sustainable refurbishment of the existing stock.
