
HSBC Wellingborough
The Wates Retail team successfully completed the refurbishment of the HSBC in Wellingborough. Through a deep understanding of HSBC’s requirements and regular communication with the client, Wates Retail ensured the smooth delivery of the project to programme, delighting the customer.
The team ensured:
- Minimal disruption to the branch operations through a daily handover meeting with the branch manager at the start of every night shift, ensuring staff were aware of the programme and sequencing, with any local requirements included in the programme
- Total customer satisfaction through a bespoke weekly tailored customer service questionnaire covering Communication, H&S and housekeeping leading to:
- Collaboration to ensure excellence in H&S standards in a live trading environment
- Expectations of the branch manager and staff clearly managed through frequent
programme and scheduling communications
- One point of contact for the branch team with Wates Retail
This has resulted in overall ‘customer satisfaction’ for this project at 10 out of 10, setting the standard for future projects

The project involved the re-work of the shop floor covering the following:
- New Amtico flooring to the banking hall.
- Carpet tiles in all other areas with tastefully decorated walls which compliment the client’s colour chain.
- Timber doors, metal stud partitioning with plasterboard and skim finish embedded.
- Trilux lighting installed at the store along the banking corridor, which provides HSBC with their energy efficient lighting specification.
- New furniture was also added to the banking hall in keeping with the colour theme, together with meeting rooms and brand new HSBC graphics and signage.
