Horley, Surrey
Wates’ land interest in Horley goes back decades. Much of the Eastern side of the town was built by the company from the mid 80’s which now forms a well-established and mature community of over 1,500 homes. In 2006, Wates Developments overcame significant planning obstacles to secure a new residential planning consent for 600 new homes on a further 69 acre site with riverside parkland.
This strategic Greenfield site constitutes a major town extension, including a new £30m transport infrastructure package for the local community, employment, shops, a new school and community areas. 496 units are being built out in Joint Venture with Barratt Southern Home Counties. The scheme will take 6 years to complete and the 1st phase is currently near completion.
