In 2009 Wates purchased the 5.5 acre site, already allocated for housing. At the time of purchase the site was under option to a major housebuilder, on expiry of that agreement the site was sold into a joint venture with Linden Homes and planning permission was secured locally in 2010 after extensive public consultation. It is now under construction and due to be completed in 2013.
