East Riding College, Bridlington
Wates Construction successfully completed the development of this state of the art new campus as part of East Riding College's redevelopment plans.
The site based at St Marys Walk in Bridlington, included a new 6050 sqm two storey building, positioned on the open green space in front of the existing College, and in very close proximity to college buildings which remained occupied and in full use throughout the life of the project.
Features of the redevelopment included:
- Creation of a new general and vocational teaching facility with the use of reusable materials and energy
- Relocated football playing area
- Safer pedestrian access
- Improved car parking
During the works, we liaised closely with the college and surrounding community to ensure the site both complimented and enhanced the surrounding locality. We also worked with the college to hold a series of events for local residents, staff and learners to showcase the plans and a 3D model of the proposed new building.
