Café and Restaurant Experience
Wates has recently refurbished an existing live trading McDonalds restaurant and Drive-Thru facility on an edge-of-town retail park as part of their framework . Wates has worked on projects for clients such as Wagamama and Gaucho Grill on busy high street locations with both clients presenting different challenges. Projects for the Gaucho Grill required us to install specific bespoke designs whereas Wagamama required attention to detail and consistency with the installation of a standard design.
Wates Design is currently working on the implementation design for the Gallery restaurant in Selfridges on Oxford Street.
John Lewis Partnership
John Lewis Partnership is our first ongoing relationships in this sector with projects including the complete fit-out of a shell into a new department store.
Wates has delivered the development and fit out of all aspects of the ‘Places to Eat’ within the John Lewis department stores including the installation of all M&E as well as all air conditioning and re-fridge. Wates has also delivered the fit-out of two coffee shop style areas within larger John Lewis stores and the fit-out of three Partners dining rooms including all elements of the dining area as well as the preparation area.
Marks & Spencer
Another of our long-term relationships is with Marks & Spencer where we have delivered in excess of 10 Simply Food café offers known as ‘Complete Food to Go’ counters, as well as installing the smaller ‘Hot Food to Go’ counters within Simply Food stores.
We have successfully delivered high profile flagship developments and installations of restaurants including the installation of the remarkable roof top restaurant in the Grafton Street store and their first ‘Café Revive’ in M&S Newcastle. These projects involve the full installation of all M&E, fixtures, fittings and equipment both front-of-house and in the preparation areas.
