Wates International is currently working in conjunction with a local partner, Al Fara’a, on the British School, Al Khubairat in Abu Dhabi.
The 31-month project, valued at £12m, began in July 2010 and is one of the first pieces of work to have been secured by the newly formed Wates International, which is operating locally in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Wates extensive knowledge of working effectively in the UK’s education sector was a major factor in securing the project with one of Abu Dhabi’s most prestigious schools. The scheme is being phased sensitively in a live environment to minimise disruption to the 1800 pupils on site.
Brand new management systems and an innovative approach to the demolition and construction work with Al Fara’a are already delivering benefits to the progress of the scheme.
