Boots Brand refresh - Design
The Project
Wates Design were the appointed design consultant to re-brand & refresh 210 Boots stores in an 18 month roll-out. The refurbishment costs ranged from £30k - £150k per store.
The Delivery
This project was about delivering maximum impact at minimum cost across a significant volume of stores. The challenge for Wates Design was to deliver a scope that took into account site specific, regional and corporate requirements whilst ensuring a consistency of brand image. Drawings and specifications were kept to a minimum to keep the fees as low as possible. Obtaining & managing planning approval and building control consent for such a volume of stores was also a challenge. Detailed trackers were kept on progress and interpersonal skills were required to deal with the many different planning authorities and the sometimes difficult individuals we had to deal with.
Key To Success?
• Retention of a dedicated team that became ‘expert’
• Regular reviews to ensure consistency of approach
• Excellent relationship with Contractors
• Partnership approach with Boots Project Managers
