Wates International is currently working in conjunction with a local partner, Al Fara’a, on Al Bateen School in Abu Dhabi.
The 14-month project is valued at £25m and began in April 2010. It is the first major project to have been won by the newly formed Wates International business, which is operating locally in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Wates long-standing experience of working effectively in the UK’s education sector was a critical factor in securing the project with this well-established school in Abu Dhabi. The scheme involves both sub- and superstructures and a turnkey style fit out, which incorporates external works and landscaping.
The Wates International team are working in close conjunction with Al Fara’a to introduce new Western-based systems of work and are implementing innovative best practice policies to the local workforce to improve upon the level of client service and overall value delivery of the project.
