north west

Wates has been established in the North West for 15 years and is currently carrying out projects up to £40m.  Our knowledge and expertise enables us to understand our customer’s needs and build good relationships with them.

Main projects include:

  • North Liverpool Academy – a £31m new build school academy for 1,750 students
  • Liverpool John Moores University Art & Design Academy – a £22m new build project for the University’s Design and Art Academy. It has achieved a “very good” BREEAM rating
  • Sydney Jones Library - £12m Refurbishment of Office and Library Building as well as a new build Link Building
  • John Lewis, Liverpool - £22m shell fit-out retail project
  • Waitrose, Altrincham - £6.5m new build store on a brownfield site with stringent environmental performance constraints

Our people go that extra mile for their community. Staff in the North West took to the streets of Manchester for the night on 17 November 2009 to gain an understanding of homelessness, while also raising £2000 for our charitable partner, Shelter.
