Surveying Manager

Purpose:

  • Lead, manage and support pre and post contract commercial activities on more than one project.

Position Typically Reports To:

Commercial Manager and/or Commercial Director

Key Accountabilities and Deliverables:

  • Training and development of commercial site teams.
  • Cash management and profitability of projects.
  • Protection of Wates contractual position.
  • Preparation of financial reports.
  • Developing relationships with clients/supply chain/professional team.

Key Tasks:

  1. Produce Statement of Responsibility.
  2. Understand Tender build up.
  3. Produce Commercial Tactic Statement.
  4. Ensure Contracts/Bonds/Warranties/Guarantees/Insurances in place prior to commencement.
  5. Overall financial, contractual and legal control of their projects.
  6. Lead Contract Review meetings with Construction Manager
  7. Agree Commercial Strategy with Construction Manager/Project Surveyor/Project Manager.
  8. Production of Claims and L&E.
  9. Maximise Profit & Cash.
  10. Prepare Financial Reports for Regional Management.
  11. Agree Final Accounts.
  12. Agree Buying Strategy with Site Team.
  13. Understanding of CDP’s.
  14. Manage dispute resolution.
  15. Measurement and valuation.
  16. Form Relationships with Client/PQS/consultant/Supply Chain/Regional Staff.
  17. Develop Commercial Site Teams.
  18. Coach for Wates Action.
  19. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  20. Being accountable for self-development.
  21. Promote Company Image.
  22. Market the Company.
  23. Form Partnership with Construction Manager.
  24. Coach for Best Practice.
