Surveying Manager
Purpose:
- Lead, manage and support pre and post contract commercial activities on more than one project.
Position Typically Reports To:
Commercial Manager and/or Commercial Director
Key Accountabilities and Deliverables:
- Training and development of commercial site teams.
- Cash management and profitability of projects.
- Protection of Wates contractual position.
- Preparation of financial reports.
- Developing relationships with clients/supply chain/professional team.
Key Tasks:
- Produce Statement of Responsibility.
- Understand Tender build up.
- Produce Commercial Tactic Statement.
- Ensure Contracts/Bonds/Warranties/Guarantees/Insurances in place prior to commencement.
- Overall financial, contractual and legal control of their projects.
- Lead Contract Review meetings with Construction Manager
- Agree Commercial Strategy with Construction Manager/Project Surveyor/Project Manager.
- Production of Claims and L&E.
- Maximise Profit & Cash.
- Prepare Financial Reports for Regional Management.
- Agree Final Accounts.
- Agree Buying Strategy with Site Team.
- Understanding of CDP’s.
- Manage dispute resolution.
- Measurement and valuation.
- Form Relationships with Client/PQS/consultant/Supply Chain/Regional Staff.
- Develop Commercial Site Teams.
- Coach for Wates Action.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Being accountable for self-development.
- Promote Company Image.
- Market the Company.
- Form Partnership with Construction Manager.
- Coach for Best Practice.
- Carry out PDP’s.
- Agree Site Teams Accountabilities.
- Advocate Supply Chain Management.
- Attending Pre/Post Tender Interview.
