Site Surveyor

Purpose:

  • Accountable for all aspects of surveying and commercial site functions on small to medium size projects or assisting Project Surveyor on larger or more complex projects.

Position Typically Reports To:

Project Surveyor and/or Surveying Manager

Key Accountabilities and Deliverables:

  • Commercial control of subcontract packages.
  • Maximisation of value recovery, cost control and cash management.
  • Assist Project Surveyor and/or Surveying Manager with protection of Wates commercial position.
  • Administering Contract Records.
  • Assist Project Surveyor and/or Surveying Manager with preparation of financial reports.
  • Production of final accounts.
  • Subcontract and material orders.

Key Tasks:

  1. Close liaison with Project Surveyor and / or Surveying Manager.
  2. Knowledge & understanding of our obligations under the Contract.
  3. Au fait with & understanding of Tender build up.
  4. Agree Commercial Strategy with Commercial Manager/Construction Manager/Project Manager & implement accordingly.
  5. Forecast Value & maximise Value Recovery.
  6. Identify & Implement Cash Strategy.
  7. Administer Contract Records.
  8. Interact with Buyer/Project Manager to maximise Commercial Recovery.
  9. Undertake procurement, when no buyer present.
  10. Knowledge and understanding of subcontracts e.g. SC/10, DOM1, DOM2 and SC/s GEN.
  11. Manage Subcontract Order Documentation & Accounts.
  12. Liaise & Direct Site Clerk.
  13. Produce CVR monthly.
  14. Adhere to Management Plan procedures.
  15. Promote SHE Policy.
  16. Measurement and valuation.
  17. Production of Loss and Expense claims with Surveying Manager.
  18. Production of Final Accounts.
  19. Ensure that the supply chain is paid in accordance with the contract.
  20. Form Relationship with PQS/Client/consultants/Supply Chain.
  21. Develop Commercial Site Team.
  22. Ensuring that the terms and conditions of contractors orders are agreed.
  23. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  24. Being accountable for self-development.
  25. Actively market Wates.
  26. Implement SHE policy.
