Site Manager
Purpose:
- Ensure project is built to required quality on time and at minimum cost. Typically handles small to medium sized projects or sections of large projects.
Position Typically Reports To:
Project and / or Construction Manager
Key Accountabilities and Deliverables:
- Manage project to successful completion at min cost, keeping management informed at all stages.
- Build safely according to SHE policy.
- Implement management plan.
- Promote Wates Action on job.
- Implement Right First Time after first Team Meeting.
- Reintroduce or drop Wates Action.
Key Tasks:
- Manage subcontractors - ensure working safely and efficiently, with all trades co ordinated.
- Manage the issue of construction issue information.
- Raise/Respond to RFIs and COVIs.
- Maintain accurate site records.
- Fulfil accountabilities within the Health and Safety Action Plan.
- Fulfil accountabilities within the Quality Assurance Plan.
- Monitor progress against Contract Programme.
- Prepare and monitor short term programmes.
- Procure through requisitions necessary materials and plant.
- Supervise direct labour.
- Attend contract review meetings and present site overhead costs.
- Monitor and project overhead costs with the site surveyor.
- Prepare reports and attend progress meetings.
- Chair subcontract site meetings and produce meeting minutes.
- Manage correspondence.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with design team/client and supply chain.
- Promote company image.
- Protect company contractual position with site surveyor.
- Developing the tender programme into a construction programme.
- Agreeing with the managing Surveyor the site overheads and wastage.
- Working with the SHE Department to produce the Project Health and Safety Plan.
- Working with the Site Manager and Surveyor to produce the Sub contractor Procurement Schedule.
- Protecting the company’s interest via correspondence to the Design Team and sub-contractors.
- Assist Project Manager in producing MIRS.
- Run / attend Technical / Defect Workshops.
- Organise or run Toolbox talks.
