Project Manager
Purpose:
- Manage project(s) team(s) (including designers & supply chain). To safely deliver project(s) on time to stated quality at minimum cost and to client’s satisfaction.
Position Typically Reports To:
Construction Manager
Key Accountabilities and Deliverables:
- Plan and manage project/s to satisfactory completion through to issue of MGD certificate.
- Implement Management Plan.
- Create team spirit and develop project staff.
- Keep Line Manager informed.
- Implement Right First Time on Project.
- Implement a safe working environment on site.
Key Tasks:
- Carry out PDP sessions with project site staff.
- Identifying priority of the job training for staff and operatives.
- Project Team accountability meetings.
- Sub-contractor and Design Team, Team Building sessions.
- Attending pre-tender interviews.
- Working with the pre-contract team to give the company a competitive edge.
- Developing the tender programme into a construction programme.
- Agreeing with the Surveying Manager, the site overheads and wastage.
- Working with the SHE Department to produce the Project Health and Safety Plan.
- Take overall responsibility for the project to the end of the Defects Liability period.
- Progress monitoring and compiling programming strategies with the Site Managers.
- Monitoring site overhead expenditure and authorising any additional expenditure deemed necessary to safeguard the project.
- Representing the Company’s corporate image.
- Vetting the resources and capabilities of selected sib contract packages.
- Working with the Site Manager to produce the MIRS.
- Working with the Site Manager and Surveyor to produce the Sub contractor Procurement Schedule.
- Protecting the company’s interest via correspondence to the Design Team and sub-contractors.
- Producing medium and long term programmes.
- Attend 4 week planning for quality meetings.
- Attend 4 week planning for health and safety meetings.
- Ensuring the Project Quality Plan is administered.
- Ensuring the Project Health and Safety Plan is administered.
- Authority of petty cash expenses.
- Attend and help facilitate the first team meeting.
