Estimator
Purpose:
- To provide tender costs on a limited value or complexity for construction projects for Regional Directors Adjudication ensuring a competitive net bid.
Position Typically Reports To:
Project Estimator/Estimating Manager
Key Accountabilities and Deliverables:
- Co-ordination of tender bid & pre-contract activities.
- Preparation of sound and competitive net estimate.
- Handover and presentation of tender bid to construction team.
Key Tasks:
- Check and acknowledge tender documents and amendments.
- Enter details on RIMS.
- Abstract information into subcontract and material packages.
- Select subcontract and material companies from Unison.
- Organise copy of tender documents and amendments for appropriate parties.
- Arrange pricing document production – internal or external – if required.
- Enter pricing document onto ISEC.
- Rate up pricing document.
- Answering queries from subcontractors/suppliers.
- Arrange site visit.
- Requesting further information from Client/Design Team and arrange meeting if required.
- Enter sub-contractor/supplier quotations into ISEC.
- Liase with Planner re: Methodology.
- Price up Prelims.
- Compile provisional ‘Green Sheet’.
- Finalise ‘Green Sheet’ prior to Adjudication Meeting.
- Attend Adjudication Meeting and present a nett tender.
- Complete Form of Tender and tender letter with any qualifications.
- Complete Contract Sum Analysis/Schedule if necessary.
- Ensure final ‘Green Sheet’ is fully distributed.
- Enter final tender information on RIMS.
- Prepare information packages for handover to construction team, if successful.
- Attend handover meeting and brief team on tender bid.
- Attend Design Team Meetings, if D & B.
- Undertake project debrief, eliciting feedback from sites, to improve construction.
- Input supply chain performance data on Unison.
- Identify scope for value engineering / value creation
- Identification of tender risk
- Implement SHE policy
