All employees receive training and development to ensure that they have competencies that are related and aligned to the business needs of the Wates Group and in doing so are able to meet our customers' needs as well as their own aspirations.

Employees’ training and development needs and requirements are identified through regular one to one conversations with line management with support from the Group Training team. This process, the Performance and Development Review provides every employee with a Personal Development Plan along with the platform for career progression and continuous improvement.

Wates has established the benchmark for aligning the learning process to business success with its innovative approach to management development, technical training and interpersonal skill development. Our model for manpower planning, employee assessment and succession planning provides individuals opportunities to enhance specific experiences and further ensures that employees are able to benefit from our continued rapid growth.
