Steve Yazdabadi ; Commercial Director

Prior to moving out to Abu Dhabi as Commercial Director for the Middle East, Steve was Wates PFI Director. Steve’s expertise in PFI led to Wates Construction becoming one of the largest deliverers of academic PFI projects in the UK.

Recent successes include Luton BSF (over £250 million of improvement to the educational estate) Slough schools PFI (where Wates built one of largest special education needs schools in Europe). Under Steve, Wates has grown to manage a portfolio of 26 schools providing services including full facilities management, maintenance, finance and construction.

Steve’s keen interest in affordable housing has seen success in the pathfinder Reading Housing PFI and latterly Kirklees housing PFI.

Steve has over 24 years experience in the construction industry, many of those years for Wates. His international experience includes India, Australia, and North America.
