
Wates on site at John Lewis Stratford City

Wates Retail is delighted to announce that they have secured the John Lewis Stratford contract which commenced on site on November 1st, with enabling prior to January. This is the fourth fit-out Wates Retail have undertaken of a new John Lewis store since 2007.
The multi-million pound project involves the full fit-out of this flagship department store as part of the Westfield Stratford City. This standalone unit in this new and exciting development is over four floors, and will include an Espresso Bar and a ‘Place to Eat’, offer customers spectacular views over the Olympic Park and beyond including iconic landmarks such as Canary Wharf, the Gherkin and the City.”
John Cartwright, Construction Manager at Wates, said: "We are delighted to secure this landmark project. You can feel the excitement building around the Olympic park and new Westfield site and this is without doubt the flagship retail project for 2011. The department store is due to open along with the rest of this mixed use development in September 2011. The team are enthusiastic and focused ready to deliver another fantastic project for a key customer.
