Wates Group again ranked highly in The Sunday Times Profit Track 100 league

Wates Group has once again been positioned highly in The Sunday Times Profit Track 100 league table which ranks Britain's 100 private companies with the fastest-growing profits, based on their latest three years of available accounts.

Published in The Sunday Times on 18 April 2010, the eleventh annual league table showed Wates in 33rd position, a strong achievement which illustrates the success of the Company’s commercial strategy to build great teams, focused on delivering value for customers both in the public and private sectors and supporting the local communities it works within.

Wates Group Chairman and Chief Executive, Paul Drechsler said; ‘It is a real testament to the focus of Wates on long term relationships in the public and private sectors, the diversity of our operations and quality of the team that we have continued to deliver a strong performance in spite of the difficult economic backdrop. We are obviously delighted to be included in the Sunday Times Profit Track 100 for a second consecutive year.’

Overall profit growth among the Profit Track 100 league table ranged from 42% pa to 170% per annum, resulting in an average annual profit growth of 68% over the last three years, with combined profits rising from £291m to a total of £1.4bn. The 100 companies have added 33,817 workers over the last three years to a combined total of 96,853.
