Wates Construction strengthens its Northern operation
1 February, 2010
Leading national construction company, Wates, has boosted its northern operation with the appointment of David Price as its regional manager. This significant move to strengthen its senior team positions the company confidently for the economic upturn. Phil Harrison who has successfully led the region for the past three years will now step into the Managing Director role overseeing Wates north and midlands’ construction divisions.
Price (45) has been with the Leeds based company for nearly 10 years and his new position will see him involved with developing the business on a more strategic level. He has been responsible for delivering some of the company’s largest projects such as Challenge School, Bradford, Leeds PFI Primary Schools, Kirklees SEN Schools, Bridlington Spa, Manor School, York and the Broadgate Development on the Headrow, Leeds.
One of Dave’s personal priorities in his new position will be to boost Wates community activities. He said: “Wates is very involved in the community and it’s something we all take a lot of pride in. Each year everyone takes a day out to participate in Community Day and we also fundraise for shelter and other worthwhile causes. I am looking forward to doing what I can in this new role to help Wates make a real difference to people in the North.”
