LogicaCMG
Waterton Service Centre
Client: LogicaCMG
Architects: Powell Dobson Partnership
Quantity Surveyor: Davis Langdon
Services Engineer: Hoare Lea
Value: £8m
Project Period: 48 Weeks
Procurement: Two Stage Traditional
Transforming a run down, 1970s distribution warehouse into a 60,000sq.ft of Data and Call Centre with associated Mail and Print and Document Handling facilities, within tight, business driven timescales, procured on a two stage basis was the task passed to Wates Interiors by LogicaCMG.
The fit-out of the first 15,000sq.ft of the phased occupation was completed within 5 weeks to meet the business needs of LogicaCMG’s expanding outsourcing business. The remainder of the works to the 250 person call centre and another 15,000sq.ft to form a data centre were completed in 15 and 12 weeks respectively.
On site, as the design and construction progressed through the project we tailored solutions to meet the customer’s requirements. Constructing the data centre adjacent to a busy call centre operating 24/7 was just one of the challenges overcome by consistent delivery to agreed sequencing of noisy and disruptive work, open and honest dialogue and transparent delivery of our promises.
Making Waterton a successful Operational Support Centre for LogicaCMG, both during the phased fit-out and after completion lay not only with the quality of the installation, but also how the services that provide the support work. Designed and constructed to N+1 resilience the Data Centre is the backbone of the operation that supports the Call Centre, Document Handling and Mail and Print.
