Fourteen years after Wates finished the new build of Cornwall Court in central Birmingham the National Interiors Team returned to carry out a remodelling and fit out contract for PriceWaterhouseCoopers. The £4m 100,000sq.ft project over 4 floors was part of PWC’s rationalisation of their central Birmingham operations. The building was occupied throughout the entire works and the first floor of 2500m2 was completed within 5 weeks of award with no lead-in.
Des Carney (Construction Manager), and his team developed an extraordinarily close working relationship with the users and the PWC team. This was a great benefit for the demanding time-scales that were central to PWC’s requirements. Works were concentrated around open plan floor space with bespoke joinery furniture providing ‘drop in hot desking’. This is a new way of working for PWC and the vibrant colour scheme creates a light and productive environment for the Partners and their support staff. The design has created quite a stir in the central Birmingham office market. The Interiors Team is perfectly placed to deliver fast track office fit-outs across the West Midlands and are actively searching for new opportunities based on our experiences at Cornwall Court.
