Net zero carbon future
We are experts in zero carbon retrofitting for social housing, guiding our customers every step of the way. Through our net zero carbon retrofit service, Wates Retrofit, we’re working with housing providers to install energy saving measures to homes. This service helps to cut fuel poverty and reduce energy costs.
We have completed retrofit enhancements at over 3,000 homes so far, supporting residents through these essential works, and driving sizable reductions in their fuel bills.

Key Accountabilities will include: Produce commercial reports both internally and externally to the company Ensure the timely receipt of quotations for materials, equipment and Sub-subcontract works, undertake commercial assessment of quotes received and ensure the timely placement of orders on commercially advantageous terms to facilitate project delivery and ensure business objectives are met. Site Surveyor

Here at Wates, we have a opportunity for Site Surveyor to join our Living Space Responsive team in the East Midlands area.You will be working with an experienced team and helping to deliver projects for one of our long standing social housing partners so ideally we are looking for someone with experience in this field. The focus of this role will be to produce the commercial outputs and effectively monitor/exercise cost control, as well as to liaise with client representative/s to ensure compliance with contractual service standards ensuring the company operates efficiently and profitably. Key Accountabilities will include: Producing Applications, Accounts & Invoices in the appropriate format in a timely manner To ensure all costs incurred in the delivery of the service are appropriately coded, recorded authorised and recovered To assist in the production of management information and performance reports (internal and external) monthly in approved formats To keep commercial WIP and debt to an absolute minimum and in line with targets set by management To ensure the timely production of valuations leading to invoice production within 9 calendar days of works completion To provide support and enhance communication between WLS and the client. We are looking for someone with financial and commercial awareness with a clear commitment to a customer-centres service. Ideally you will already be in a similar position and have experience within the social housing sector. To be successful in this role you will be an excellent written and verbal communicator with an understanding of legislation in maintenance and property management. (Disrepair) Scheduler

We have an opportunity for a Disrepair Scheduler to join our Wates team within our Responsive Maintenance division. You will be working out of our Brixton office on one of our social housing contracts, delivering planning for our reactive maintenance appointments.Key Accountabilities will include: Schedule works into diaries for up to 20 operatives daily ensuring diaries are full and immediate attention is given to allocate work to operatives when they become free. Check the system for emergencies and manage within a timely manner to ensure targets are meet Respond to telephone variations by seeking approval from duty surveyor so operatives may continue on the site through to completion Provide a high quality service to our client on a face to face basis Working within a team to achieve goals and targets achieving daily targets of a minimum of 60 allocations each day of new ordersWe are looking for you to have relevant experience gained from working in a similar industry and environment.Given the nature of this position, you will need to undergo a Basic Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) at offer stage. We have an opportunity for a (Disrepair) Supervisor to join our Wates team within our Responsive Maintenance division. You will be working out of our Brixton office on one of our social housing contracts, delivering reactive and some planned maintenance to our residents.Key Accountabilities will include: Ensure high quality service is provided with the management of the work scheduling in accordance with company procedures, standards and SLAs Represent Wates at client and resident performance meetings as requested by the Operations Manager Manage the responsive repairs function to ensure consistent performance against targets Effective and efficient management of material costs and ensure that all are following correct processes and procedures Monitor quality of work through inspection, inspection reports, analysis of key performance indicators and analysis of customer satisfaction surveys. Lead, manage and contribute to the development of your team and determine optimum employment levels to comply with the provision of the serviceYou must have a full UK driving licence.To be successful in the role you must also be an excellent communicator with the ability to problem solve, multi task and work to tight deadlines. Prior responsive maintenance experience is crucial to the role.
