Managing risk is essential to delivering with certainty. Wates’ approach to risk management enables us to analyse, evaluate and plan mitigating action for risks associated with a project. In 2010, Wates continued with a new form of insurance against major sub-contractor defaults, giving both customers and supply chain greater protection and security.

Solid relationships with our supply chain remain fundamental to safe and efficient delivery. Wates' Closer to Fewer programme ensures that customers have peace of mind about the corporate values and financial stability of our supply chain partners. During 2010, we launched Wates Together, an alliance with key partners. Wates Construction London is placing more than 80% of its M&E requirements with just two selected partners enabling us to deliver greater certainty for customers on programmes and costs.
