Tim Wates (Chairman)
Tim has been Chairman of WFH since May 2008.
He started his career at Cazenove & Co. in the City, prior to joining the Wates Group in 1990. His focus in Wates Group has mainly been on the Finance and Developments side of the business - most recently having been Chairman of Wates Developments and a member of the Wates Group Board. He is Chairman of the Wates Pension Fund, a trustee of the William Wates Memorial Trust, a school Governor and a non-executive Director of Tampopo Limited and Pedder Property Limited. Tim has an MBA from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.

Andrew Wates
Having originally joined the Group in 1964, Andrew was Chairman of WFH until May 2008, when he handed over to Tim Wates. Prior to this he was Chairman of Wates Group. He is Chairman of the Institute for Family Business, as well as Leisure and Media VCT and Gambado Ltd. Andrew is Vice Chairman of the Royal Alexandra and Albert School Board of Management and Vice Chairman of the Family Business Network International. He is a Deputy Lieutenant of the County of Surrey and Patron and Trustee of various Surrey Charities.

Andy Wates
Andy joined the Wates Group in 1995 and currently holds the position of Managing Director of Wates Interiors. Before joining Wates he spent 6 years gaining experience of the construction industry with Costain Construction and John Shreeves & Partners. Andy is also a Trustee of the Construction Youth Trust www.constructionyouth.org.uk and holds an MBA from Roffey Park Business School.

Charles Wates
Charlie Wates is a Chartered Surveyor with 10 years of commercial property experience. He is Founder and Joint Managing Director of Needspace?, www.needspace.co.uk, the Wates Group managed workspace business. Charlie is also a Governor of Dawnay School, Great Bookham.
James Wates
James Wates has worked in the construction industry all his life, starting on site as a schoolboy during holidays. He read Estate Management at college after which he joined Wates Construction as a management trainee, progressing through line management to running sites before taking on a General Manager role in 1989. Since then he has progressed through the company to be Deputy Chairman of the main Group Board.
Outside the Group, he is involved with several industry bodies. He is President of the Chartered Institute of Building, Chairman of ConstructionSkills, Chairman of the UK Contractors Group, a Vice Chairman of the CBI Construction Council and also a Board Member of the British Council for Offices. He is a Governor of Emanuel School, a Trustee of the Wates Foundation and Vice Chairman of Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for the Disabled and he sits on the London Regional Council of The Prince’s Trust. He was appointed a Commissioner for the UK Commission for Employment and Skills in April 2009 and in October 2009 took on the role of lead National Diploma Employer Champion with a particular focus on the Construction and Built Environment Diploma.

Jonny Wates
Having commenced his career at Grand Metropolitan (now Diageo), Jonny joined Wates Developments in 1995. He is a member of the Wates Group Board, Director of Gambado Ltd and is Chairman of Cape Verde Capital LLP, the renewable energy investment arm of the Wates Family Enterprise, CapeVerdeCapital.com. He is also Chairman of Myriad Clean Energy Generation a leading provider of onsite renewable energy solutions MyriadCEG.com. Jonny is a Governor of Cranleigh School, and has an MBA from Cranfield University.

Peter Johnson
Peter has been a non executive Director of Wates Family Holdings since 2006. Prior to this he was a non-executive director of Wates Group. He is Chairman of Inchcape plc and Rank Group and a non-executive director of Bunzl plc.
He is a Vice President of the motor industry charity BEN and Vice President of the Institute of the Motor Industry and has been involved for 40 years with the Automotive industry with Rover Group and the Marshall Group of Companies.

Sandy Dudgeon
Sandy Dudgeon is a non-executive Director of Wates Family Holdings having joined in 2006. He has been Managing Director of Thornhill Investment Management Limited and its associated companies since 2003. A chartered accountant, Sandy joined Adam & Company, the Scottish private bank as its first company secretary in 1983, and became Deputy Managing Director in 1991. He joined Martin Currie in 1994 with responsibility for all its UK mutual funds, latterly being chairman of Martin Currie Private Clients. His outside directorships have included Dunedin Enterprise Investment Trust plc (1998 - 2006), Man Alternative Investments Ltd (2001 - 2004) and two Scottish independent schools.

Duncan Straughen
Duncan is Director of the Wates Family Office. Prior to joining Wates he was Chief Operating Officer of the South East England Development Agency, having previously worked in property and infrastructure in Hong Kong for several years, after an earlier career as a banker and corporate treasurer. He is a Fellow of the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
